Research

The broader areas of my research are texture and micro-texture (microstructure) development in materials during manufacturing processes and its co-relation with processing/properties. I have published 15 papers in reputed SCI/SCIe journals and received two best paper awards in National and International conferences. I have developed good skills in the area of characterization of the material, texture studies, and mechanical testing. During my Ph.D., I have worked on commercial duplex stainless steels grade ( ̴ 50:50 austenite/ferrite phase fraction) and also extensively used cold rolling mill, OM, SEM, EDS, XRD, and EBSD for my work. I also did texture simulations using the software MTM-FHM (Taylor type, VPSC).

My long-term plan is to become a renowned researcher in the field of microstructure and texture studies and develop crystal plasticity models which help us to understand the micro-mechanism during different manufacturing processes. This will help to understand the material’s behavior under different loading conditions and by changing texture we can play with the mechanical properties and develop some improved material with better properties.
